Spark Team Feedback
‘’I could not have expected my graduate year to go any better than it did at The Spark Therapy Service, and I am so grateful that our practice has staff wellbeing and mental health as a priority! In my graduate year, I gradually shifted from seeing 1-2 clients a day to 4-5 clients a day over time. This graded caseload approach helped me maintain my work life balance and even more so, the stress load that comes naturally in a graduate year due to large amount of learning and new experiences that occur.
My growth as an Occupational Therapist was largely attributed to the incredibly supportive environment at The Spark, specifically my weekly 1:1 supervision with a senior therapist and our monthly team meetings, both of which allowed me to ask clinical questions, shared intervention ideas with other OTs and learn new frameworks that I could apply to my practice.
A generous professional development allowance also enabled me to seek out further learning to upskill myself as a new graduate. Tina encourages clinicians to follow their interests and supports us to find passion projects and specialty areas within our clinical practice.''

‘’The main thing that is really special about working at The Spark is the culture. It is a practice set up to deliver quality programs and care. There is a genuine desire to see people develop their own personal talents, interests and abilities, as well as regular supervision and support to acquire the skills necessary to keep improving as an OT. The Spark also has a very holistic and individual approach to helping children and their families, rather than just providing set ‘programs’ for diagnosed conditions. They care about finding the underlying causes of presenting problems, as well as helping deal with difficulties that the child may be experiencing. There is an amazing depth of knowledge and experience amongst the OT’s that is freely shared. Finally, there is a wonderful combination of excellence, realistic caseloads and authentic care that is unusual in many practices. (And the setting and the kangaroos are a bonus!)''

‘’The Spark Therapy Service is a wonderful and supportive workplace. I started at the practice as a new graduate and was well supported to develop my clinical experience through weekly supervision, opportunities to shadow a range of colleagues, internal professional development learning modules exploring The Sparks Frame of Reference and developmental functional areas, graded caseload with one-on-one support. Four years into my career I still receive regular monthly supervision, peer collaborative learning, termly continued professional development and supportive working experience with a focus on staff wellbeing and support.''
